Day-by-Day Programme
Day 1
Amman Airport – Amman
Arrival at Amman International (Queen Alia) Airport. Meet and transfer to your hotel in Amman for assisted check-in and overnight.
Day 2
Amman – Jerash – Ajlun – Amman City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Jerash, a close second to Petra among Jordan's favourite destinations; the ancient city has an unbroken chain of human occupation dating back more than 6,500 years, was conquered by General Pompey in 63 BC, and became one of the ten great Roman cities of the Decapolis League.
Continue to Ajlun, where northern Jordan combines the pine forests of the Ajloun–Dibbine area with the Ayyubid castle of Ajlun. Qal'at Ar-Rabad was built by one of Saladin's generals in 1184 AD to control the region's iron mines and deter the Crusaders.
Back to Amman for a city tour: the Citadel and Archaeological Museum, the Roman Theatre and Folklore Museum, a walk downtown with a taste of falafel, and a panoramic drive through the modern city. Overnight in Amman.
Day 3
Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Karak – Petra
After breakfast, drive to Madaba, best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and home to the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Continue to Mount Nebo, the memorial of Moses, with views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the River Jordan.
Drive on to Karak to see the famous Crusader fortress, a dark maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways, then proceed to your hotel in Petra for check-in and overnight.
Day 4
Petra – Wadi Rum – Aqaba
Breakfast, then begin your visit of Petra, Jordan's greatest treasure — a vast city carved into the rock by the Nabateans over 2,000 years ago. Enter through the Siq, a kilometre-long gorge flanked by 80-metre cliffs, ending at the first glimpse of Al-Khazneh (the Treasury), a façade 30 m wide and 43 m high carved from the dusky pink rock.
Afterwards transfer to Wadi Rum — the 'Valley of the Moon' that T.E. Lawrence described as vast, echoing and god-like — for a roughly two-hour Bedouin jeep tour. Continue to Aqaba, Jordan's Red Sea resort, for check-in and overnight.
Day 5
Aqaba – Aqaba Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out, and we transfer you to Aqaba Airport for your departure.
